a challenge for us? something to think about?
why are we doing this? i know we've talked in generalities and said vague things like 'we want to be good role models for our kids' or 'we want to feel healthier', but what is the total meaning of this?
but really, what does all that mean? it's so abstract. how do we take it into the concrete. into reality. what is the plan? how will get from point A to point B.
kwim? take a few minutes...heck take a few days to really think about why we are doing this.
i hope i'm not sounding muddled in my post.

Sometimes we set out with goals in mind and as you said, they are abstract like "lose x amount of pounds" but what do we hope that losing x amount will achieve besides seeing a difference on the scale?
For me it has been about seeing what dropping those pounds does without maybe realizing what it would do when I began.
So far my loss can be attributed to the following:
- my blood pressure going from high normal to normal
- I'm no longer out of breath going up 3 flights of stairs to our apartment
- I can usually keep up with hubby when we go for a walk instead of lagging far behind him
- I'm feeling fun and flirty and sexy again
- people compliment me which feels awesome
- sex...it gets sooo much better when there's not an extra layer between you!!!
- having my hubby be able to wrap his arms completely around me instead of just half way
- not gravitating toward the handicap bathroom stall because I can like actually fit in a normal one now and close the door behind me!
- restaurant booths now sit where they are supposed to instead of under my ribs
- my joints do not ache anymore (I had chronic knee, hip and ankle pain for years) and now it is gone!
There are so many more. I guess my point is sometimes it is the things you experience as a result of being on the journey that keep you going on the road there. :)
Hmmm. A challenge like what SB & I were doing a while back (point challenge) would work, but where we're all doing different things, there's going to have to be some thinkin' involved. Ewww :P
